Unveiling his latest project, Tom Cruise is said to be starring in the big screen remake of John Sturges' "The Magnificent Seven".
According to Variety, the "Mission: Impossible" actor will headline the 1960 remake which produced three sequels: 1966's Return of the Magnificent Seven, 1969's Guns of the Magnificent Seven, and 1972's The Magnificent Seven Ride Again, as well as a two season television series in 1998.
"The Magnificent Seven" follows seven gun fighters who are hired to help protect a small and oppressed Mexican peasant village, and is actually a remake of Akira Kurosawa's "Seven Samurai" which turned out to be a successful film.
Although Cruise is said to already be on board for the film, the remake is still in the very early stages, as sources say the project doesn't even have a director or a scrip yet.
